Justine The Butcher - #CareersInAg Ambassador
Justine Fulton, a 32-year-old butcher from Lancashire, discovered her passion for butchery in 2019 after leaving a stressful career in social care. Despite being new to the industry and not coming from a butchery background, Justine was drawn to the craft and skill involved in the trade. With determination and a desire to challenge stereotypes, she pursued her newfound passion, eventually landing a job at a meat box company where she learned the ropes of butchery.
Through her popular Instagram account, Rack of Glam, Justine aims to make the meat industry easier to understand and promote good farming practices. With over 5,000 followers, she educates her audience about the process of meat production and encourages them to consider quality over quantity when it comes to meat consumption. Justine believes that butchery is for everyone and hopes to break the stereotype of butchers being predominantly male.
Working at The Butchers Blade in Cheshire, Justine enjoys being part of the farm-to-fork process and sharing her knowledge with customers. She is passionate about sustainability and ethics in farming and hopes to inspire others to appreciate the origin of their food. Recently completing her apprenticeship and preparing to start a degree course, Justine's career turnaround showcases her dedication to butchery and her belief that it's a rewarding path worth exploring.
