Job Details

Having a close relationship with your farmers is always an important element of any business, however the magic really happens when you become integral to their team.

In this role you will become part of the day to day team for your farmers, you will be their liaison between the farm and the processor, their guide and their trusted source of information. From working on sowing plans, to the agronomy, to the harvesting and storage and transport of their crops – you will be on hand every step of the way.

You will be responsible for a number of farmers in the area – who are already in supply contracts with this business – you will need to be influential in your character yet a supportive ear who will listen and take on feedback - reporting this back to our client to ensure that farmers feel fully supported.

To be suited to this role you will have experience of managing relationships with farmers in an in depth manner – perhaps you’re already part of ‘the team’ on farm but are looking for a new challenge or you’ve graduated and are looking for an opportunity to blend your practical skills with new commercial ones.

Whilst there is an element of sales to this role – it is not the key function– relationship building and the ability to maintain lasting on farm partnerships will rank high in your skill set.

Whilst this opportunity is open to those that have a good level of experience in managing groups of farms – it is also open to those that are taking their first steps into the commercial world – please see the requirements below.

What you’ll need to be considered for this opportunity:

• You’ll have a relevant Agricultural Degree and/or relevant experience in arable production

• Knowledge of wider Agricultural industry and current affairs

• You’ll be commercially aware and astute

• You’ll have strong relationship skills and have an ability to adapt your style of communication

• Good negotiating and selling skills

• Strategic thinking and perspective

• Current driving licence – due to travel within role
