Technical Examiner, 0173 Land and Wildlife- Marking Examiner
Would you like to be involved with supporting the delivery of Technicals examinations?  

We are looking for multiple competent industry experts in fisheries, countryside and game to join our existing examiner team to support with the creation and delivery of our 0173 Technical Diplomas for the Spring 2024 assessment series and beyond.

This examiner role gives you the opportunity to work alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates, and to continue to develop your own skills and development.  

Further detail on qualification content, including qualification handbooks, examination guides, sample assessments and past papers, can be found in the qualification specification on the 0173 qualifications webpage.  

The assessments within the Level 2 and Level 3 Land and Wildlife qualifications include written short answer papers, multiple choice question papers and assignments.  

We are looking for examiners to support in the delivery of the assessment from Spring 2024 onwards.  As a Marking Examiner you will: 

Mark candidates’ scripts in accordance with the agreed marking scheme accurately and consistently, and to the standard and deadlines set by the Chief Examiner/Principal Examiner 

Prepare for and participate in standardisation of markers meetings to ensure best practice is adhered to when marking 

Submit samples to the Chief Examiner/Principal Examiner at designated times 

Report any suspicion of collusion or unfair practice or any evidence of irregularities on the part of candidates or centres to City & Guilds' staff 

Review candidates’ marked scripts when requested by City & Guilds 

Produce an examiner’s report and submit it within the specified time 

Attend Awarding meetings to establish the grade boundaries
