We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the purchase and sale of agricultural feedstocks, fresh produce residues, and by-products primarily for biogas plants. Your expertise will help ensure a steady, sustainable supply chain for biogas production, while fostering strong relationships with suppliers and clients in the agricultural sector.

Forager Feeds is a specialist feedstock procurement business helping renewable natural gas (biogas) plants secure feedstocks as and when they need them. This can be in the form of negotiating long-term agreements on an advisory basis, or trading feeds on the spot market to meet plant needs. Forager also provides consultancy advice in the form of due diligence and advisory services to plants and farmers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement & Sourcing: Identify and source agricultural feedstocks, fresh produce residues, and by-products from farms, food processors, and other agricultural producers..
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, agricultural businesses, other suppliers and biogas plants.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics to ensure competitive purchasing and selling strategies. Provide insights into the most effective procurement methods.
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination: Oversee the logistics of transporting feedstocks to biogas plants, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining cost-efficiency. Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate storage, handling, and processing needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all feedstock procurement processes adhere to relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Sales & Business Development: Sell agricultural feedstocks and by-products to biogas plants, ensuring that the transactions are mutually beneficial. Identify new business opportunities and expand the client base (both up and downstream)
  • Data & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of procurement transactions, pricing trends, and supplier performance. Prepare regular reports for senior management on procurement activities, cost savings, and business growth.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement and/ or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the supply chain.
  • Knowledge of farming practices, and the growing and selling of crops as a tradable commodity is of benefit
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market conditions, pricing, and trends.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A qualification/ experience in Agricultural Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred, but not essential.
